What makes a Heart Circle a Heart Circle?
A Heart Circle is unique in these ways:
- Its specific purpose: To intentionally create an ongoing, enjoyable environment that supports each Circle member in becoming more present, real, creative and connected to one another.
- The Heart Circle Format: Sitting quietly together to ‘tune-in’. A short ‘check-in’ to find out what everyone is feeling as the Circle opens. The rest of the Circle time is used to explore what each person is wanting to create in their lives. Closure follows.
- The eleven basic Heart Circle agreements between members.
- Heart Circles are self-organized and self-facilitated by the members themselves.
- Heart Circles follow what each member wants in the moment rather than following any set procedure or specific process.
- There is an historical context for Heart Circles: We are awakening out of ‘separation’ and coming into ‘connection’. Our survival as a species and our true happiness as individuals are linked to this consciousness transition.
Where do I get training to start my own Heart Circle?
There are three sources for Heart Circle training:
- Reading the manual: The Heart Circle Teachings: Awakening With Everyone Around You by Tej Steiner (available through this website)
- Attending a 2 Day Heart Circle Introduction Training (see schedule of classes)
- Receive direct Heart Circle Coaching for you individually or for your circle of family or friends. Coaching is particularly effective in that it prov ides you with ongoing, interactive, multi-faceted Heart Circle training available on your terms of time and place.
Can I join an existing Heart Circle where I live?
In some cities such as Ashland, Oregon where there are 20 to 30 Heart Circles, joining an existing Circle is possible. However, Heart Circles are designed so that you can start your own Circle easily by simply finding one other person you already care for and trust. Meet for eight weeks and then invite in several other people that you agree together would fit well into your Circle. (Having more than eight or nine members isn’t recommended)
Can I start a ‘phone’ Heart Circle with friends or relatives who live in different cities?
Yes. Phone Heart Circles can be very powerful and rewarding. However, if you do form a Circle via phone or Internet hookup, consider forming an additional Heart Circle where you live. Nothing replaces being in a deep, local, hands-on, in-touch Heart Circle.
Do I have to follow any ‘beliefs’ to be in a Heart Circle?
No. Follow your heart.
